Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St John's Downshire Hill Striking white stucco church standing on the apex of Downshire Hill and Keats Grove. Built as a proprietary chapel in 1818 in the classical style of the time to serve the middle-class population expanding down the hill. The late Georgian interior survives, with galleries, traditional Anglican reredos, and umbrella-stands on the pew doors. A listed building. It was covenanted to remain open as long as it has a congregation.
