Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St James's church. The chequerwork created by alternating square blocks of knapped flint square blocks of stone gives a very pleasing appearance to this church, which is typical in style of larger East Anglian churches: it has a long nave and chancel, aisles and a clerestory > 704341 - 704344. The spire is made of wood and lead. Medieval survivals are a painted image niche > 704356, fragments of a wall painting, and the rood screen > 704361. A stained glass window insert from the 1920s depicts St James > 704372. The church is kept locked; a key is available at > 704315.
