St James' Boulevard, Newcastle upon Tyne. The view north up the northbound carriageway, from the junction with Bath Lane. On the left is the Sandman Signature hotel, on the right is the Citygate complex. In the distance is the St James Metro station, above which rises the Gallowgate End of St James' Park football stadium. A few feet behind the camera is where the 1991 bronze statue of Jackie Milburn stood between 1999 and 2012, after which it was moved to a position directly beneath the east end of the stand. |
