English: St George, Bloomsbury Way, near to London, City of London, Great Britain.
The tower of Nicholas Hawksmoor's church is yet another of his Baroque masterpieces, built in 1729-31 under the Fifty New Churches Act of 1711. Grade I listed. The tower was inspired by the mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and is crowned by a statue of King George I. |
