Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Deiniol's Church, Hawarden.jpg |
English: St. Deiniol's Church, Hawarden St. Deiniol's church has a history of over a 1000 years, there is a list of known Rectors dating back to 1180. Considerable damage was caused to the ancient church by a fire, started deliberately, on the night of the 29th of October 1857. Fortunately the parish registers were rescued by a young parishioner named Richard Hammond, who entered the burning building by breaking through a window. After rebuilding, the church was re-opened on the 14th of July 1859. |
