St Andrew's church in Guist - C18 monument
Description

Mural monument to Robert Wiggett (1632-1697). Source: Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 2 (1889), p.75[1]. Stirnet[2]: "Robert Wiggett of Guist (b c1632, d 16.11.1697). m. Dorothy Wicks (d 1722, dau of Rice Wicks). (1), Rich/Rice Wiggett of Guestwick (d 01.09.1749)."

Inscription

Robert Wiggett of Geist, Gent, (youngest son of William Wiggett of the same parish), for Dorothy his wife, and Frances their daughter. He departed this life Novr. 16th, 1697, in his 65th year. She died on August 26th, 1722, in her 69th year, and Frances their daughter died on July 18th, 1712, aged 19. Rich, their only son, caused this monument to be erected. (See monument to Rich Wiggett in same church).

Heraldry

Or, three mullets sable pierced gules on a chief wavy azure a dove regardant proper (Wiggett, See Farrer, p.73, re Guestwick); impaling: Paly of six gules and or, on a chief azure three eagles displayed of the second (Wicks ?); Crest: A dove regardant proper holding in its mouth an olive branch proper, fructed or (Wiggett).
