Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Andrew's church - church organ - geograph.org.uk - 849657.jpg |
English: St Andrew's church - church organ. Curiously, St Andrew's church > 849609 - 849652 - 849654 has a detached round tower > 849628 - 849631 - with conical top and weather vane - that stands about one metre distant from the church. The church has several Norman windows and a remodelled Norman south doorway > 556757. The north doorway is late Norman, the arch into the chancel and the east window are 13th century > 849652. The nave gables were rebuilt in the 18th century; the roof dates from the 19th century, as does the chancel roof. The circular font > 556745 is Norman, the angle piscina > 849651 dates from the 13th century; the benches are C17 and the mahogany pulpit is C18. The church is open every day.
