Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Andrew's church - chancel - geograph.org.uk - 818626.jpg |
English: St Andrew's church - chancel. The church has a 14th century doorway and Mortlock (The Guide to Norfolk Churches, D.P. Morlock & C.V. Roberts, The Lutterworth Press, 2007) believes that the triple lancet east window (seen here) is contemporary and unrestored. The font dates from the 15th century > 818628. A chalice brass to a priest, George Conyngham, who died in 1525, is on the chancel floor. The priest's desk at the west end of the chancel (seen here at left) is believed to be 19th century.
St Andrew's church houses the village post office, which is located in a tiny cubicle in the tower, and open two days a week > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/818636. St Andrew's church is presently closed due to repair works on the leaking roof > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/818624.
