Summary

[edit]
Description
English: St Andrew's Dock, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Built in 1949 for the Lord Line trawler fleet, this imposing and now derelict building looks out over the eastern end of the disused St Andrew's Dock. The huge fish dock was open from 1873 to 1975 and was for many years the busiest of all Hull's docks. The few remaining buildings at the eastern end have been saved from demolition by public campaigning but no use has been found for them and they are in a sorry state of repair. The western half of the dock has been filled in and redeveloped as St. Andrew's Quay Retail Park and the path along the quayside is now part of the Trans Pennine Trail, http://www.transpenninetrail.org.uk/ a 215 mile long recreational route from Southport to Hornsea which officially opened in September 2001.
