Summary

[edit]
Description

The St. Valentine's Day Massacre happened here on Feb. 14, 1929. This is where the S.M.C. Cartage Company warehouse formerly stood until it was demolished in 1967.

Al Capone's men, disguised as police, shot seven members of George "Bugs" Moran's gang (actually five plus two non-gangsters, a retired optometrist and a car mechanic.)

This is a rare look at the site without the fence blocking it. The fence was knocked down and removed after a recent lightning strike.
