| Description |
English: St. Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth, minor Injuries and surgical block is privately run but is funded to treat minor injuries which helps take pressure off of the major Accident and Emergency facility at Queen Alexandra hospital at Cosham just to the north. Taken in June 2021 with cases of the Covid-19 3rd wave evidence can be seen of a Covid-19 swab station which was inactive at the time the image was taken. National news reports were reporting a higher number of respiratory cases among young children ... usually a summer characteristic but winter lockdown and limited mixing with stage 3 easing now in swing may have caused a surge. I had taken someone here for a scheduled X-ray appointment which was seen immediately however a check of waiting times for minor injuries two days earlier were reported as 5 hours. Can parking was free at this time, again probably Covid-19 pandemic related. |
