| Description |
English: St. Martin of Tours church, Ashurst, Kent The patron saint is an unusual one; born in Hungary, the son of a pagan army officer, he joined the army but was discharged because of his Christian beliefs. He stayed in France where he worked against paganism. He is buried at Tours. He is the patron saint of beggars and soldiers.
Patronal festival is 25th April. The pretty church stands above the A264 Tunbridge Wells to East Grinstead road. |
