Description
Deutsch: St. Martin bei Lofer - Wallfahrtsmuseum Maria Kirchental Der Wallfahrtsort Maria Kirchenthal besitzt die größte und kunsthistorisch recht wertvolle Votivbildsammlung Österreichs. Sie umfasst ca. 1200 Exponate, die der naiven Volkskunst zugeordnet werden. Der Wallfahrtsort Maria Kirchenthal mit seiner hochbarocken Basilika des bedeutenden kaiserlichen Hofarchitekten Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach zieht seit mehr als 300 Jahren ununterbrochen PilgerInnen an. Ihre aus Dankbarkeit resultierenden Bild- und Objektspenden werden im Museum aufbewahrt und in besonderer Art und Weise präsentiert.
English: The place of pilgrimage Maria Kirchenthal is visited by pilgrims since more then 300 years. Their donations - alltogether about 1200 pictures and objekts - are presented in a special way in the museum.
