[edit]
Description
English: St. John's Cross, Canongate This pattern of setts in the roadway marks the old official boundary between the burghs of the Canongate and Edinburgh before their merger in 1856. It lay outside the town gate called the Netherbow Port and was the place where the town council would assemble to meet royal visitors approaching the city from the direction of Holyrood.
