Deutsch: St. Jakobi
St. Jakobi erkennen Sie schon von weitem an den vier Kugeln oben am Helmansatz des Turms. Die dreischiffige Backsteinhallenkirche (erbaut 1334) ist seit dem Mittelalter die Kirche der Seefahrer. Sie wurde zusammen mit St. Marien und St. Petri geweiht. Das Kastengestühl und die historischen Orgeln blieben erhalten, da die Kirche im 2. Weltkrieg nicht beschädigt wurde. Die kleine "Stellwagenorgel" ist eine der besterhaltenen norddeutschen Orgeln aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. An den Untergang der Viermastbark "Pamir" 1957 erinnert das Rettungsboot in der nördlichen Turmkapelle, die heute "Nationalen Gedenkstätte der zivilen Schifffahrt“ ist. Als internationale Seefahrer-Gedenkstätte nimmt St. Jakobi im Gewölbe unter der Pamir-Kapelle als Columbarium (Ort des Erinnerns) die Urnen Verstorbener auf, deren Leben mit der Seefahrt verbunden war. Vor St. Jakobi steht ein Ensemble dreigeschossiger Backsteintraufenhäuser von 1601. Diese dienten den Pastoren und Predigern der Jakobikirche als Wohnung. |
