| Description | St. Illuminator's Armenian Apostolic Cathedral at 221 East 27th Street between Second and Third Avenues in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1843 in the Greek Revival style and was rebuilt in 1849. It was used until 1917 by the Rose Hill Methodist Episcopal Church. St. Illuiminator's was founded in 1910 in Manhattan's Gas House district. (Source: From Abyssinian to Zion (2004)) |
