| Description | The 1B15 0650 London Paddington to Swansea services approaches the village of St. Georges, just to the west of Cardiff, on Easter Sunday. Due to engineering works near Reading the train had been routed from Paddington to Swindon via Banbury (with a reversal) and Oxford. From Swindon the train had then run via Bath, Chippenham, Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway, before regaining its normal route along the south Wales mainline. Its journey time from London to Swansea was just over 5 hours on this day. The train is running in reverse formation (with first class at the country end) - presumably due to the engineering works in the Reading area, and the need for reversals at Banbury and other non standard workings. |
