| Description | St. Benedict's Church, Glastonbury, Somerset, 21 December 2019. Originally a 11th Century church was built dedictaed to St. Benignus or the Anglo-Saxon St. Beonna but this was replaced by the present church in the 14th Century (with the same dedication) in the form of the Decorated nave, chancel and south aisle. The Perpendicular tower was added in the mid 15th Century. The Perpendicular clerestory to the nave, nave arcades, north aisle and porch were constructed in the early 16th Century. The dedication was changed to St. Benedict in the 17th Century. The south chapel was added in 1862 by Benjamin Ferrey, who also undertook some restoration, and in the 1880's the church was extensively restored and partially reconstructed by J D Sedding in Gothic Revival style.
