English: St.Andrew's Chapel Of the three Armed Services chapels in St.Mary's Cathedral, St.Andrews chapel is dedicated to the Navy. In it hangs the ships bell from HMS Tasman (a T Class submarine commissioned in 1945) as a memorial to the explorer George Bass, a famous son of Lincolnshire who discovered the strait separating Tasmania from mainland Australia in 1798. |
