Description
English: St.Andrew's Chapel Of the three Armed Services chapels in St.Mary's Cathedral, St.Andrew’s chapel is dedicated to the Navy. In it hangs the ship’s bell from HMS Tasman (a ‘T Class’ submarine commissioned in 1945) as a memorial to the explorer George Bass, a famous son of Lincolnshire who discovered the strait separating Tasmania from mainland Australia in 1798.
