| Description |
De kerk ontstond uit een kapel in de 11de of 12de eeuw. Ze werd in de loop der eeuwen herhaaldelijk vernield door oorlogen en overstromingen. Het romaanse koor werd opgetrokken uit breuksteen. De kruisbeuken in Lediaanse zandsteen dateren vermoedelijk uit de 14de of 15de eeuw. Het schip is korter dan de kruisbeuken en werd in bakstenen gemetseld. De bakstenen muurgedeelten werden vroeger gewit. Zie verder <a href="https://id.erfgoed.net/erfgoedobjecten/48510" rel="nofollow">id.erfgoed.net/erfgoedobjecten/48510</a> The St-Gertrudis-church in Vlassenbroek (Baasrode - Dendermonde) originated from a chapel in the 11th or 12th century. It got destroyed several times over the centuries by wars and floods. The transepts in sandstone from Lede date back to the 14th or 15th century. The ship is masoned in brick and is shorter than the transepts. The brick sections used to be whitened. |
