Description

Stählibuckturm in Thundorf TG 653 müM Turmhöhe 26.8 Meter 148 Tritte. 1908 auf Initiative des Verkehrsvereins Frauenfeld (VVF) erstellt durch die Firma Arnold Bosshard, Näfels.

Finanzielle Unterstützung u.a. durch den Verschönererungsverein, den Ornithologischen Verein, Munzipal-, Bürger- und Ortsgemeinde Frauenfeld, die Gemeinden Kurzdorf, Huben, Dingenhart, Thundorf und Matzingen.

Der Turm wurde zuerst auf dem Werkgelände in Näfels zusammengestellt, dann für den Bahntransport nach Frauenfeld in acht bis zehn Meter lange Stücke zerlegt.

Transport vom Bahnhof auf den Stählibuck in Fronarbeit durch die Dingenharter Pferdebesitzer.

1923 erste Pinselrenovation

1935 erste "Generalrevision"

Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges Fliegerbeobachtungsposten der Armee und für das Puplikum gesperrt. Im Anschluss daran Sanierung und erneute èbergabe an die Öffentlichkeit.

1958 weitere sanfte Renovation.

1978 Turm technisch überholt.

2002 Totalsanierung. Wie beim Bau erhielt der Verkehrsverein Frauenfeld grosszügige Unterstützung aus der gesamten Region.
