English: A photo of an Indian wrestler performing baithaks (squats). Based upon another photo of the same workout, the wrestler may be the famous 'Great Gama'.
To perform a baithak, the exerciser stands on their forefeet with their hands by their sides. They bend their legs and squat down (the hands have a tendency to turn so that the palms face backwards somewhat during this). The exerciser then stands up again (this has a tendency for the hands to turn inwards and the arms to move somewhat but they stay more or less by the sides). |
