DescriptionSquare and Fortified Church in Codlea.jpg |
Codlea, Transylvania, Romania. Codlea is a small town in south-eastern Transylvania. On the right side of this image you can see its fortified church. The downtown preserves almost entirely its medieval architecture. South-East Transylvania boasts Europe's densest system of well preserved medieval fortifications. Virtually every village of this region has a fortified church in good shape, let alone ruined strongholds, forts and fortified castles. |
