Description
English: Cenozoic - Neogene - Miocene. This specimen (NC 50641) is a humerus from a Squalodon calvertensis, an extinct toothed whale with a long snout. This humerus is located in the upper fin joint to improve control and maneuverability while swimming. This bone is 4.25 cm thick and measures roughly 11.5 cm x 5.25 cm. Stratigraphy: Calvert.
