| Description |
English: Spur Wall to the Water Tower Apparently built in 1322 this spur wall links Bonewaldesthorne's Tower on the right to the 'New' Water Tower on the left. The Water Tower and spur were built as the River Dee silted up and the water channel moved further away from the city. The archway would have allowed the river water to flow through the wall thus reducing pressure on the stonework. The area around the Water Tower and wall is now a pleasant garden and incorporates a maze. |
