Summary

[edit]
Description

With the spike in hay prices three years ago, some sagebrush uplands in the valley have been turned under to make way for center pivot sprinkler systems to grow livestock forage for hay. The irrigated alfalfa or grain grown under these pivots does pull in migrating birds in the spring/fall, as well as resident sage grouse in the summer months.
