ns. SEASON—April to October. Numbers of people take the cure at this resort twice ayear; in the spring and in the autumn. Hotels of good repute, casino, theatre, opera comique,daily concerts, promenades, etc. Distance from Paris 611 miles via Paris, Orleans 85Midi Ry. OALARUC ( Herault). Situated on a sea inlet, about■*-^ 4 miles from Cette. There are several thermal establishments, with hotelsattached; three salt water Springs ranging in tempera-ture up to 118 degrees F supply the waters. TREATMENT—Internal and external; mud bathsform an important part in the cure. RECOMMENDED in cases of scrofula, sciatica, Lo-comotor-Ataxia, other forms of paralysis and cardiactroubles. SEASON—From the 1st of May to the 31st of October. Being very near to the towns of Cette and Montpellierall amusements and attractions available in a large townare within easy reach of guests. The railway station for Balaruc is Cette, distant fromParis 551 miles via the Paris, Lyons and Mediter-ranean Ry. 42

A LLEVARD (Isere). Situated on the River Breda■^^^ at an altitude of 1500 feet in a valley protected byhigh mountains and amidst some of the most beautifulAlpine scenery. The thermal establishment is of con-siderable importance, fitted with all the latest appliances,equipments and systems, usually found in the principalsulphurous thermal baths. WATERS—Cold sulphurated hydrogen. TREATMENT—Internal and external; cold and warminhalation; the warm inhalation apparatus is installed inthe form of an amphitheatre, so that the required temper-ature may be easily regulated. RECOMMENDED in cases of chronic catarrh, affec-tions of respiratory organs, skin diseases and rheumatism. SEASON—First of June to 30th of September. Theatres, concerts, and excellent mountain excursionsin vicinity; comfortable hotels at moderate prices;numbers of villas and furnished houses.
