Text Appearing Before Image:
E. G. HELL & CO., RICHMOND, IND. 2 0 M. de Lesseps. A decided improvement on Argentea Gut- tata, the leaves four times as large, of silky texture, spotted silver. Nitida Rosea. Large panicles of soft rose color, glossy leaves ; very beautiful. $5 per 100. Prest. Camot. Belongs to the Rubra family, is larger in foliage and also in flower, which is borne in immense panicles, and of soft rose color. $6 per 100. Paul Brtiant. Five-pointed leaf, large and smooth ; nice bush form ; flowers in very large panicles, freely produced so as to nearly cover the plant ; peculiar rose shade changing to pale green. One of the best. $10 per 100. Rubra. The most popular variety extant; glossy leaves and coral flowers. Sandersonii. Stalks rise from the root without branch- ing ; leaves smooth and small ; flowers heart-shaped and bright scarlet. $3 per 100. San guinea. Quite similar to Fcastii, save in form of leaf, which is pointed. One of the finest and most popular. $6 per 100. Thurstonii. A very useful variety for florists; of easy growth, makes an elegant ornamental plant, with glossy leaves ; one of the very best. A grand out-door bedder. Weltoiliensis. Beautiful old-fashioned pink flower- ing variety. $3 per 100. REX BEGONIAS. REVOLUTION. (E. G. Hill.) A very striking new variety of our own raising, with a very pronounced double whorl on the leaf, one above the other ; the texture is fine and velvety and the shading is beautiful, showing a nice silver zone. A free, thrifty grower. A fine addition to the whorled Rex. 30 cents each ; $25 per 100. (See cut, p. 28.) E. Q. Hill's Hybrid Rex. The following five varieties are very distinct crosses between the two sections. They have leaves like silk in finish. They are deeply notched, almost star shaped, but large as the finest Rex, with smooth stems and free growth ; of the easiest management, and make grand specimens in a few months' time, and bear rough hand- ling with impunity. BERTHA. McUREGOR. Leaf 9x6, long pointed, with six deep notches ; small, dark, palm shaped center ; body cf leaf silver, outlined with bronze. $6 per 100.
