Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "The daintiness that characterizes the gowns of the coming summer is not lacking upon the exquisite bits of millinery which are now being placed on sale at the wholesale houses.

In hats as in gowns, green will be the prevailing color. The emerald green which has for some time been popular will give place to a more delicate green, almost a white dashed with color, and this green will be combined with the delicate pastel shades, so popular this season.

Knots and clusters of tiny rosebuds are being used for trimming. The flowers are caught against the dainty straw of the hat with bows of ribbon, matching or in contrast to the color of the flowers. There are little rosebuds in straw as daintily colored and almost as natural as the silk flowers themselves.

With these airy effects have come various styles of veils, especially attractive and useful in the early spring. Here is shown in No. 1 a white chiffon veil, with a dash of color, caught at the side of the had instead of at the back, the fluttering ends allowed to fall over the side.

Another fad in the manner of wearing veils is shown in No. 2. The veil is of chantilly lace. It is draped over the hat, falling almost to the shoulders all about the face and down the back. The front is then caught up, only an edge falling below the hat brim in front, while the whole width hangs over the sides and back."
