O O How to Destroy Insects on Roses and Flowers. ..A Timely Little.. Book, Postpaid, 30c, THE ROSE. Hundreds of new Roses are being offered to the people of America at present by floras, and of the long list but lew are really of lasting merit, or such as will reward the ordinary grower with anything like "paying buds." One or two buds a year from a new Rose with a high, commanding title is certainly not as good as 100 or more buds from a trusted, tried, standard Rose; hence our list this year contains only the cream of free bloomers. Culture. Give the Rose good loamy soil, enriched with rotten cow manure or bonedust. Apply plenty of water and sunshine, and it is as sure to bloom and flourish as a Geranium or Fuchsia A dozen of the follow ing Roses, planted in open ground in full exposure, with sufficient moisture, will reward the grower with hundreds of blossoms during the summer. ELEGANT EVER-BLOOMINQ R05ES. THE GRANDLY BEAUTIFUL METEOR ROSE EACH, 85c. New Ever-Blooming Rose, Belle Siebrecht, This magnificent Rose has the indorsement of all lead- ing rosarians of both America and Europe, as one of the most free-blooming Tea Roses, with a quality as hardy as a hybrid, living outdoors with protection. It is a great sum- mer bloomer; the color is a unique shade of pink, clear and constant, with long stems and colossal flowers. Price, first size, 50c.; second size, 30c. each. Meteor. European and American growers are fairly wild over this remarkable rich dark velvety crimson Rose, so dark, in- deed, that under certain conditions it is blackish crimson, approaching the desired black Rose. It is an extremely free bloomer, both summer and winter, and will surely do well. Price, first size, 35c. each; second size, 20c. each. William Francis Bennett. For cutting it is without an equal; the buds being of large size and borne on long stems, rival in coloring the rich glowing crimson of Gen. Jacqueminot. Each, 30c.; 3 for 75c, Memorial Rose. A grand new Rose. (See page 23.) American Beauty. The American Beauty has the true hybrid fragrance, and this, with a large size (blossoms often 7 inches in diam- eter), rich deep crimson color and free-blooming proper- ties, makes it the finest Rose in America to-day. Each, 40c. Marshal Niel. Incomparably the finest Rose in any section or of any col- or. In the South, where it luxuriates in a congenial soil and climate, or m a house where these conditions are supplied, it develops charms possessed by no other Rose. The flower is extremely large; rich golden yellow. Each, 20c. Kaiserlna Augusta Victoria. The new pure white Rose, creating such a decided sen- sation the past season. The buds are large and grand, of pure white. Each, 25c. La France (Hybrid). Peach color, shaded rose. At a vote taken in France to determine the best Rose in existence, this received first choice. With slight protection this Rose lives outdoors in the North, as it is a hybrid. Each 20c. Martha Washington. The best white hardy Rose grown- (See paee 23.)
