SOUV. PRESIDENT CARNOT. Mad. Abel Chatenay. This is a wonderfully strong, healthy growing variety with rich bright foliage. A grand bedding rose, as it is a profuse and continuous bloomer ; flowers of good size, very double with slightly recurved petals; elegant buds, just the right size and shape for buttonhole use. Color rosy car- mine shaded salmon. Its strong healthy growth and profuse flowering habit will make this a popular garden rose in all sections of the country. 25c, 60c. for 3. (See cut, page 93.) Souv. Mad. Eugene Verdier. This is one of the finest new roses of the year. A grand large, double flower, globular in shape, outer petals slightly re- curving, buds of elegant shape and can all be cut with long stiff stems with handsome foliage ; color, ROSES. OUR SPECIALTY. We devote twenty large greenhouses to the growing of roses in pots, turning out nearly half million of plants annually. In addition to this we are the largest growers of two-year old field grown hardy roses in America, our plantings the present season covering over twenty acres, and numbering over 300,000 strong thrifty plants, that are well worth traveling miles to see, during June and July when they are a blaze of bloom. NEW HYBRID TEA ROSES. SOUV. President Carnot. A charming new French rose; one of the most promising new roses we have had the pleasure of offering in years, and we predict for it a grand future with the cut-flower growers. A strong, clean, healthy grower with handsome, bronzy green foliage and large elegant shaped buds. The flower is of large size, of exquisite shape with heavy, thick shell- like petals; buds long and pointed, similar to Niphetos, but very much larger, and all borne on long, stiff, erect stems. Color delicate rosy flesh shaded a trifle deeper at the center. A very profuse bloomer. 35c, $1 00 for 3. Charlotte Gillemot. A beau tiful, large, double, finely im- bricated flower with petals slightly recurved, resembling a camellia in shape. Color pure ivory white; very fra- grant. 25c. Marquis Litta de Breteuil. Bright, rosy carmine with deeper center: fine large double, bold flowers, equaling in size the finest Hybrid Per- petuals. A vigorous grower of fine habit and exceedingly free flowering considering its large size. A grand garden variety. 25c. Josephine Marot. A beauti- ful cup-shaped flower with thick shell-like petals giving the whole flower an elegant finish. Color a beautiful flesh white, sometimes lightly suf- fused with delicate rosy car - mine. A fine large double flower of splendid shape. 25c delicate creamy white shading to saffron yellow at center. Plant a sturdy vigorous grower with fine glossy foliage, a free and constant bloomer. 35c (See cut, page 92.) TS. W. C. Whitney. This is a charming new rose, delightfully fragrant, more so than any other rose that we know; color a beautiful shade of clear deep pink, very fresh and bright. The flowers are large and fuli, with fine, large, elongated buds The plant is a strong, healthy grower and exceedingly free-flowering, every shoot producing a bud with fine long stems and extra fine handsome foliage 2oc. One each of the 7 new Hybrid Teas fo* 1.60.
