| Description | The Spokane Street Bridge, in Seattle, is a 1991-opened swing bridge with two consecutive (as opposed to side-by-side) swing spans that move in unison when the bridge is opened for water traffic. This photo shows the west swingspan in the turned position, viewed from the west approach viaduct, looking east. At right are some of the supports of the much higher West Seattle Bridge, opened in 1984. |
