English: Spit Sand Fort, gun emplacement The fort had various cannon and guns at various times during its history. During WW2 6" guns were placed on the roof on this and a similar platform. The shell stores can be seen, having been hoisted up from the armament room below. In the fort's earliest form there were 9 3cwt cannon on the level below this. |
