| Description |
English: Spit Sand Fort, central courtyard The rooms to the left originally housed the Senior staff. The fort was typically manned by an Officer and his batman, a Staff Sergeant and 24 men. The men had two barrack rooms the other side of the courtyard, 12 men to a room. They were Army rather than Navy personnel. The water tanks can be seen; water was drawn from a well within the fort. |
