Title |
Spiny spider crab |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
Gosse often secured this rather sluggish crab by dredging in the waters of Weymouth Bay, Tor Bay or off Ilfracombe. On many occasions he was accompanied by Charles Kingsley, author of Westward Ho! Common in the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans, this crab has the dubious distinction of being the first non-indigenous species recorded from Antarctic seas. |
