Description
Nederlands: Spijkenisse, Sportlaan, Zadkine College. Kunstwerk "Liggende mannenfiguur met vogel" van Joan Bakker. Dit beeld stond oorspronkelijk bij de openbare lagere school Koningin Wilhelminaschool. De kunstenaar over het beeld: "De gedachte welke ik het beeld heb willen meegeven is het moeizame verwerven der kennis. De kennis is vluchtig en veranderlijk en daarom gesymboliseerd in een vogel met de mand half oprijzend om deze vogel te grijpen." Bron: bij de voorplaat. - In: Groei, Spijkenisse: Gemeentebestuur Spijkenisse, jg 3, nr 2 (1963), p. 128.
