In the Cheviot Lavas, on the north side of the Cheviots,* in the burn a quarter of a mile S.S.W. of Langlee, there is astrong vein with calcite- and quartz-breccias running slightlyE. of N. On the south side of the Cheviots a vein consisting of^ various ribs from 1 to 4 ins. thick, composed of calcite mixedwith angular pieces of porphyrite, &c., and here and therespotted with small crystals of galena and iron pyrites. Thiswas seen in a craggy glen (Ravens Crag) on the south side ofAUerhope Burn, a little over ; mile above its foot (10); also i Ibid., Yol.
