| Description |
English: Spaunton Quarry. Good sized modern Quarry just North of the A170.
Work here is winding down as their application to take another section of land has been turned down. This was a London based decision, all local planners were in favour as the alternatives sources will require long road journeys with heavy lorries. The picture was painted of a quarry 'eating into the North Yorkshire Moors National Park' - but the land which surrounds the quarry is rather poor, thin limestone brash mostly in Arable crops. |
