Kommentar: Isabella II. (1833-1868), geboren 1830 in Madrid, gestorben 1904 in Paris, war die Tochter des spanischen Königs Ferdinand VII. (1784-1833). Als sie mit zwei Jahren den Thron einnahm, war ihre Mutter Maria Christina von Sizilien ihre Vormünderin. 1843 wurde sie mit 13 Jahren mündig erklärt. Mit 16 Jahren heiratete sie ihren Cousin Franz d'Assisi Maria Ferdinand (1822-1902). 1868 verlor sie die Krone durch einen Putsch und floh nach Frankreich. 1870 bestieg Amadeus von Savoyen den Thron, 1873 wurde die Erste Republik ausgerufen. Nach der Restauration entsagte Isabella 1870 der Krone zu Gunsten ihres Sohnes Alfons XII. (1875-1885).
