ick a representative team. Purely on form, however, the live Navy men stand head and shoulders above any otherplayers in the South. They are not chosen beacuse, as a team, they won the Southern championship, but because each man isthe superior of any other man playing the position on a South-ern team. Wenzel of the Navy is far and away the best forward in theCouth at the present day. The only forward ever seen on aSouthern team who was his superior was Wilson, of the Navyteam of 1908-09. While not approaching Wilsons wonderfulfloor work, Wenzel is the equal of Wilson in locating the bas-ket, both on long shots and when closely guarded under thebasket. Abbott of the Navy is the man for the other forwardposition. Although very light, he time and again showed upguards of twice his weight. A fair dribbler, an excellentdodger and shot, he is a litting team mate for Wenzel. Among the many good centers who played last season, thereis one who stands far above all other competitors for the pivot

On account of his greatheight he easily outjumped all of his opponents throughout theseason, and combined a good heady offense with a defencewhich no opponent throughout the season could break through.Although not as fast as Jones of Virginia or Lapham of Balti-more Medical, yet his ability to locate the basket was superiorto any other center in the South. For a man of his Jze andweight he was very aggressive, and more than once pulled histeam out of a tight place by his phenomenal play. Last seasonhe was named by most sporting writers as the successor toRyan on the All Eastern team, and should develop in the com-ing season into the best collegiate center the country has everseen. Good guards are absolutely essential to the success of anyteam, and this year we have in Wills and Jacobs of the Navya pair which it would be hard to beat anywhere in the country.Wills wor
