We now ascend the Vueltas del Puente.To the right towers the Castillo, an outher of the Sierra de las Pa-parras. The flanks of the mountain are clothed with evergreenshrubs. Farther up we reach a ridge, where we have the Clot de laSajolida to the left, and the Monte de San Juan or the Rocas de SantaMagdalena la Vieja to the right. In front rises the Albarda Castellana(p. 269). In 13/4 hr. we reach the crest, where we obtain a fine viewof the Valle Malo (p. 263), with the Caball Bernat and the Dedos,between which the distant Montseny is visible. In 1/4 hr. our pathjoins that from the convent and ascends to the left, partly in shade,through the steep gorge of the Valle Malo (p. 263). Meals are usually taken in the Fonda to the S. of the entrance (al-muerzo or comida 2V2-4 p.), but it is advisable to bring provisions fromBarcelona.
