Cada any Parcs i Jardis és el responsable d'organitzar, coordinar i executar el disseny del Pessebre a la plaça Sant Jaume. Una instal·lació efímera que combina recreació artística i tècniques d'enjardinament. La proposta d'enguany recupera el format del pessebre tradicional i clàssica en tots els seus aspectes: construcciones, figures i disposició de la vegetació.

L'Associació de Pessebristes de Barcelona ha estat l'entitat encarregada de dissenyar i executar aquest pessebre, mentre que l'ornamentació vegetal l'ha executat l'IES M. Rubió i tudurí, Escola de Jardineria. Ha estat un treball d'artesania, molt laboriós i acurat que es vainiciar el mes de juny d'enguany. La superficie total és de 160 m2 (16x10m) i les construcciones i la muntanya s'han fet a escala, justament amb les figures que fan des de 20 fins 50 cm.

La vegetació utlitzada són arbres, arbustos i planta entapissant d'una mida a escala del pessebre. Es tracta de vegetació majori- tàriament autòctona.
