Summary

[edit]
Description The southeast corner of Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo, New York, as seen sometime between 1887 and 1900. At left is seen the original, Cyrus Eidlitz-designed Buffalo Central Library building. At right is the original St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, built in 1844 and demolished to make way for the Hotel Lafayette. Upon the demolition of their church in 1900, the St. Peter's congregation moved to a site on upper Main Street and became known as Our Lady of Lourdes.
