| Description |
English: South West Ridge of Grisedale Pike Seen from the wall shelter just below the summit. The subsidiary summit is unnamed on the O.S. maps and even Wainwright mentioned it was nameless. However, in the Birkett list it is given as Hobcarton Crag (Hobcarton Head). Hobcarton Head seems more fitting as Hobcarton Crag is really the name of the crag overlooking Hobcarton, seen on the right of the picture. I do wonder though, how long either name has been attributed to the summit. |
