South Transept, Gloucester Cathedral. Founded in 1089, this noble edifice was mainly built in the 13th century. It is celebrated for its massive Norman masonry, the beautiful choir, the east window (the largest in the world), and the magnificent tower 275 feet high. The South Transept was reconstructed in 1330.
