Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This large statue is of the familiar "obese" type. It would be somewhat over six feet when complete. It is usually considered to represent a goddess of fertility.

In front of the statue is found an altar with spiral relief carvings. The spiral motif is repeated in many carvings throughout the temple complex.

The statue and altar are situated in the first apse to the right within the south temple. The originals of these and the other temple artifacts were moved to the archaeological museum in Valetta for safekeeping and preservation. The ones seen here are copies.
