Image title | The South Eastern Fever Hospital was opened in 1877 on Avonley Road at New Cross, near Deptford in south east London. It was the fifth such hospital to be erected by the Metropolitan Asylums Board which in 1869 became responsible for certain classes of the sick poor in metropolitan London. The site later became New Cross General Hospital, then New Cross Hospital. |
