Summary
[edit]DescriptionSousaphones Show and Marchingband Euroband.jpg |
English: Show and Marchingband 'Euroband'.
The largest and best-known department within the association is the show- & marchingband. It consists of about 45 musicians aged between 16 and 55. They rehearse once every week, led by a professional instruction team in order to keep the level high and even improve it. Also because of this high level, Euroband is a welcome guest at street parades and tattoos at home and abroad and by now it has a great record of service. For example, the orchestra made guest appearances at the following events: • The National Military tattoos in 2006, Floriade Tattoo 1992, tattoos the Rotterdam Ahoy Hall, Eurotattoos in 2001 and 2004. • The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, Halifax (Canada) in 2008. • Flower parades in e.g. Zundert (The Netherlands), Digne-les-Bains (France), Neuchâtel (Switzerland) en Jersey (United Kingdom). • Street parades in e.g. Paris, Cologne, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Brussels and London. In 1966, 1970, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2013, the orchestra successfully participated in the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (The Netherlands). In 2013 the orchestra scored 89.18 points on march as well as 87.38 points on show, both accounting for another beautiful gold medal, of which the association is very proud. The strength of the orchestra is currently: percussion, rhythm section, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piccolos, flutes, baritone horns and sousaphones. The music, especially composed and arranged for the orchestra, guarantees for their own sound both in march and in show. |
