Précisions sur l'utilisation | La sonde cannelée, selon Charles –Louis-Fleury Panckoucke, est « une tige droite de fer ou d’argent, terminée par un plaque fendue dans son milieu, pourvue d’une rainure ou cannelure sur une des faces, avec ou sans cul de sac à l’autre extrémité. » Cet instrument sert à sonder les plaies et guide les bistouris, les scalpels ou les ciseaux pour inciser. Le cul de sac retient la pointe de l’instrument tranchant pour empêcher de trop découper.
