English: Unit coins lay on the memorial stand for Sgt. 1st Class Clark Corley, Spc. Ryan Lumley, and Spc. Thomas Mayberry following a memorial service at Combat Outpost Sultan Khel, Wednesday, Dec. 7. The three men, members of Action Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry, were killed in action Dec. 3 after their vehicle struck an IED. Senior officers traditionally leave the coins on behalf of their units to honor the fallen soldiers. Action Company, part of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, is based out of Fort Bliss, Texas and is the first unit from the 1st Armored Division to deploy to Afghanistan. |
